hey-
So last night it was snowing and I was pissed because I thought I'd have to ride indoors today. Well it turned out that there was snow everywhere but the sun was doing it's job, so the roads started melting pretty quickly. I headed out in the afternoon to ride a few hours with a certain Mark Hardman. It was a pretty awesome ride. There was just enough snow on the roads to keep the handling skills flashy. My sweet clip-on fenders kept both of my buttocks dry.
When I got back my bike was 100% caked in salt. It blows my mind how much salt they use here. In Switzerland they don't use salt. Not at all. With good snow plows and a little gravel, they don't need salt. The salt wreaks havoc on the environment when it flows into our watersheds. I guess that's the price we're paying for that extra bit of safety. Wouldn't want to see VDOT get sued for someone wrecking in the snow, would we?
Anyway, the point of that story is that I showered with my bike. Since all oustide hoses were frozen, I brought the ol' Surly in to the dorm shower with me. We had a good lil' time. Here she is drip-drying once the fun was done.

ian bought a plunger today, because his sink is clogged, because he puts all his eggyolks down it. he claims to have already splooged 300 eggyolks down the sink. ian ayers, keeping the poultry population at bay, day after day.
snow on the ground today. that meant the 4 hour ride had to be relocated into Dave Galvin's apartment. 4 hours indoors did to my taint what this little device does to beef:

thank you that is all. time to take my vitamins. 2 vitamins.
